Description | The peptide is a 48 to 57 amino acid fragment of TAT with an additional cysteine residue at the N-terminus. This peptide contains the protein transduction domain (PTD) of the HIV-Tat protein, which inhibits HSV-1 entry. Adding a cysteine residue to the N-terminus of Tat-PTD (Tat-C peptide) can increase the antiviral activity against HSV-1 and HSV-2. Tat-C acts on the outside of the cell and immediately blocks the entry of the adsorbed virus without eluting the virus ions |
