Product Name | Plasmodium falciparum Circumsporozoite Protein, (6NANP) PfCSP |
Purity | HPLC>95% |
Description | P. falciparum circumsporozoite protein (PfCSP) is the most abundant antigen expressed on the surface of P. falciparum sporozoites. The middle part of the pre-erythropoiesis antigen contains 6 highly conserved immunodominant tetrapeptide repeats (NANP), and its N-terminal and C-terminal regions contain two key protection regions, respectively called RI and RII-plus . Both play a key role during the parasite invasion. PfCSP has always been the main target antigen in the development of pre-erythrocyte malaria vaccines, including subunit proteins with adjuvant or attenuated viral platforms. Studies have shown that high-titer antibodies against PfCSP are believed to block the invasion of blood-borne sporozoites on liver cells, thereby eliminating the development of blood-stage malaria. |
