Description | This is the 15 to 23 amino acid fragment of the insulin reverse chain that is recognized by pancreatic islet-associated T cells. This peptide is also called INS. It is used in diabetes research to measure the IFN-demethoxylated protein and IL-17 produced by diabetic CD4 or CD8 T cells. This peptide stains ins-reactive CTL clones, but does not stain spleen CD8+ T cells from NOD or 8.3-tcr transgenic NOD mice. |
